A Piece of Paradise

When I asked Millie what she wanted to eat for lunch today she asked if we could go to the place where we share soup and a sandwich (aka, paradise bakery). We has just been to the doctor and he said her counts were up and we could take her out if we felt comfortable with the idea. Since it was only 11 am and I knew it wouldn't be busy yet, I hurried and got the kids ready and headed out.

We got our food and the second we sat down she started screaming at the top of her lungs that her drink was too big and she didn't want it. Every time I would try talking to her she would get louder. At one point I said, "Millie I love you but I think we should go", by now the whole restaurant is staring at me, and she says, "NO MOM WE ARE STAYING HERE AND YOU NEED TO TELL ME YOU'RE SORRY RIGHT NOW, THEN DON'T TALK TO ME AND DON'T TOUCH ME". I thought I was going to die. Our little piece of Paradise had turned into a HUGE slice of Hell.

We had had such a good day and I was really excited to get out with her and feel a little normal, I wasn't expecting a ragging steroid fit. Pretty sure I won't be doing that again!

I bet your motto from a few days before was wishing to kick in. SERENITY NOW?!!!!!! I'm sorry you had a rough day...just think about our Spa Day waiting for us on Saturday in a place far far away..... =)

I don't know wether to laugh or cry for you, or to spank her bottom or hug her and tell her I love her. Sheez!!! where does she come up with "you need to tell me you are sorry right NOW"?? I could say hang in there, but I am pretty sure that is what you are doing so.....

I'm so sorry that you had such a hard day. Please check out my friend's blog that I told you about. She had gone through a lot of the things that you are currently going through. Her daughter is currently in 'maintenance'. There is an end.

Maybe it will help if you can see what others are going through and that there is an end in sight. We're thinking and praying for you.

Oh Amanda, this too shall pass. It's great that you are keeping a record of it. One day Millie will read it and be horrified and you both will laugh. ((hugs))

Well, did you stay and say you were sorry and then keep your hands to yourself? I would feel too sorry for her to actually put up a fight... what a cutie!!

Oh Amanda - I can't even imagine. Well I can slightly, because I have a 2 year old that does this all the time - but thats his personality, it's not as though he is taking a drug that is making him act out. Just know that you will be blessed for facing this trial... You are SUCH A STRONG WOMAN! xoxo, blair

I'm so sorry this is so hard. I'm sure it's hard on her too...it's never fun when you feel out of control. I do hope that the steroids are over soon for all of your sakes! Jeepers Kreepers!

all i can say is that since i have been a mother - the judging of parenting in public doesn't exist. kids yell and scream, parents yell and scream... times get tough. but of course - your story is a little different. your child has a reason that no one knows of. thats ok - you are a fabulous mother and will be blessed for your patience!

Oh my goodness what an ordeal! Next time you feel like Paradise I will have to bring you and Millie takeout. ;) I was so glad to read that you and Brady went to Vegas before all of this happened, what perfect timing! I am so happy to see the picture of Millie smiling! That has to make you feel a bit better. Hooray for the new blood work results! Love you!
