A long lost smile

Millie has been a totally different child the last week or so. It has been so difficult to get her to smile. Today we went to my sister Lindsay's house to drop off a picture Millie painted for her. She didn't want to get out of the car, but the kiddos ran out to see her and I saw a glimpse of MY MILLIE.
This picture does my heart good

Cousin Sherry pointed out that Jager looks a little like Tom Sawyer. There is just something a little mischievous about that child. That's one of the reasons I love him so much!

A Little Update:
She is still eating a ton! Her new favs are quesadillas with egg in them (breakfast burritos), cheese melted on a plate (she eats it with a fork), and gogurts. She is still crying and screaming a ton as well. Today I told her that I put her plate on the table and she starting bawling and yelling that I was rude and I broke her heart. "Don't say that to me mom"! Somebody help me please.
A BIG Update:
AMELIA IS IN REMISSION!
After one week of treatment the Leukemia count in her bone marrow went from 96% to 4%! What does this mean...
Well it means that she is included in the 90% of people who are curable! It doesn't change her treatment plan very much. It will still be based on a monthly basis and it will still be about 2 1/2 years of chemotherapy. Through years of research they know that the cancer will come back if not treated properly even though she should be cancer free by the end of the month.
We feel everyones love and support. I know that Millie is doing as well as she is because there are so many people praying for her. Thank you and Please keep it up!

That is such great news! We are definitely keeping you in our thoughts and prayers!
On a side note- Leigh used to eat melted cheese on a plate ALL THE TIME when we were little. So funny that Millie likes that too!
Hang in there!

That is fabulous news!! Hooray:) Hooray:) Amanda, I'm soooo happy! And as I read this I was thinking "Who is Amelia? Do they know 2 people going through this thing?" Yeah. I really did. Then I figured it out. I guess I just never knew her name wasn't Millie and it is Amelia-probably because I've never heard you call her that.

Amanda,
You don't know me, but I am good friends with McCall Randall and she emailed me about your sweet daughter. I was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 24 years old and I have a grandmother who battled leukemia just recently. I know exactly what you mean when you talk about the modd swings and Amelia not being herself. Even though we had/have different cancers, I went through chemo and can probably relate to a lot of what she is feeling physically and emotionally. Most people only think of chemo affecting you physically but there is a whole other side to the treatment that I believe chemically affects your brain and mood, too. If you ever want to talk to someone who has been there, please don't hesitate to email me: missmeliss81@hotmail.com.

I also wrote an online journal while I was going through my treatment. If you want to read it, the address is melissamelissa.com. It may help shed a little light on the emotional part of chemo. Turn the volume down on your computer if you get teary easliy. There's music on there and it may make you a little sad. I still can't listen to it without getting emotional!

I am so glad to hear that she is in remission! What a huge first hurdle to overcome! I wish Amelia and your family continued good news and strength.

This is the best news ever!!! I am unbelievably happy for all of you! Give Amelia a great big hug for me... if she'll let you. I know you still have a long road ahead of you but what a great prognosis. Knowing that things will work out in the end has got to help you get through all the rough times. I'll stay up on things through Lindsay but please feel free to call me if you ever need to. Yay!!!
