Our Alice In Wonderland

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
We thought it fitting for Millie to be Alice for Halloween since the story originated and was written in Oxford. The "real" Alice, Alice Liddell, was the daughter of the Dean of Oxford's "Christ Church" where Lutwidge Dodgson was a lecturer. Dodgson is the author of Alice In Wonderland, but he changed his name to Lewis Carroll for it's publication. It's told that Dodgson based his many stores around the people and places that surrounded him. Including the Original Sheep Shop (Alice goes there in the book and finds a sheep working the counter) to the famous Oxford Dodo and Alice herself. We had a great Halloween walking the city and visiting a few of these historical places. It was pretty cool to see a stuffed Dodo bird! Everyone we walked by had to stop and tell us how cute Millie was and Millie had to tell everyone her Nana made her costume. Thanks Nancy!

It was cool to see the Dodo but I definitely didn't mean to make this picture GIANT. Oh well.

You are so lucky to be out there!! How cool to see those places and have the perfect costume to go with it! She looks so old! So much pretty hair. Do they still have "mind the gap" stuff everywhere? That was so annoying. Mind the gap, stay the que, bloke, all the random stops and round-abouts, fags(thats what they called cigerettes!)JJ got really annoyed by the british talk. Such different worlds, I love it.
