What The Heck Happened......
So I was sitting in bed on Wednesday August 26 when my body started showing signs that I may be going into labor VERY soon. I ignored it a little not sure if it's what I thought, but Thursday morning I decided to go ahead and call my doctor knowing full well that he was going to send me to the hospital AGAIN!
I am so glad he did! By the time I got there I was dilated to a 4 and 90% effaced. I had been a 2 for a few weeks and I had just been checked 2 days before and everything was the same old.
The nurses at IMC decided to send me into a delivery room where I was monitored all day and night and given ANOTHER steroid shot. I am so grateful I was able to get a booster before Austin arrived. He showed ZERO signs of having blood on the brain and although he has been on a minor amount of Oxygen his lungs looked good as well.
Friday morning rolled around and according to the monitors I wasn't really contracting so my doctor told me I was going to be sent upstairs where for the duration of my bedrest. I was not thrilled at the thought of being at the hospital for 2 months. Now I know being stuck in bed is MUCH better then having a brand new baby in Intensive Care.
My doc checked me one more time before moving me and I was a 5 and 100% effaced! I was told I wasn't going ANYWHERE! At this point I was put on TOTAL bedrest which meant that I couldn't even get up to use the restroom. Only bedpans for me! It was horrible.
I had an ultrasound and Austin was breach so they scheduled a c-section for 3:30pm. As the day went on and I continued to progress they decided they couldn't wait till then and moved up my surgery for as soon as possible and in the mean tine I had to lay slightly upside-down! The goal was to keep pressure off my cervix since my water was going to break any second and if that happened it would have been very bad for Austin. There was another emergency so I was put on hold. I ended up having Austin at 3:21 pm.
Being monitored before all the drama began. I did not feel pain with one contraction. The nurses didn't know what to do. The last time I was checked which was early afternoon on Friday i was a 6 and I never felt even an inclining of pain.

Me having baby Austin. What a strange experience it was having a c-section. I was so stressed because it felt like my legs were bent. I almost had an anxiety attack because of it. Brady was laughing at me. He thought I should have been more stressed that I was being cut open while I was still awake.
After I had Austin and they were stitching me back up the spinal tap started to come up all the way up to my neck. I felt like a couldn't breath at all and they had to keep reassuring me that I was breathing. It was a horrific feeling. I'd rather have a "normal" delivery any day of the week then do that again.

Post 2
Codie was so cute with Millie. I would have been yelling at her to leave me alone while I was working, but Codie was so patient with her. She even let her help her for over 3 hours.
Our Boy at 2 weeks!
He is doing so well. He is now off all extra oxygen and is finally gaining weight. Last night he hit his birth weight. We are so proud of him! He even got to go in a BIG BOY bed. No more isolette for him! Now all he has to do is learn to eat. That is going to take some time, but I am hoping he'll get to come home in a few more weeks. They are still telling us not to expect him home any sooner then his due date (Halloween), but a girl can hope.

Our boy at 1 week old!
Millie is to young to visit so we take pictures of her for him and visa versa. This is her sending her LOVE.
Our kitty makes me laugh. Her new favorite toy is a balloon Millie got. She carries the string around in her mouth. I'll try to post some video one day...
